Major Republican Candidates To Gather On Nantucket For Fundraiser

Five big name Republican candidates will be on Nantucket next month for a GOP fundraiser, just months ahead of the midterm elections in November.
Florida Senator Rick Scott, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, will be joined on the island by Congressman Ted Budd, the Republican nominee for the Senate in North Carolina; Dr. Mehmet Oz, the party nominee for Senate in Pennsylvania; JD Vance, the GOP Senate candidate in Ohio; and Herschel Walker, the Republican running for Senate in Georgia.
The "Take Back the Senate Reception & Dinner" is being held at the island home of Bob and Laura Reynolds on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Tickets for the event range from $2,500 to attend the reception, up to $50,000 for a seat at the dinner.
The event is just the latest big ticket political fundraiser on Nantucket, as the island has long been a haven for politicians of both parties seeking access to donors. Earlier this month, First Lady Jill Biden was on the island to attend a fundraiser to support the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund that was hosted by Frank Herron and Sandra Urie.
