Natalie Jacobson Named Host Of Boston Pops On Nantucket Concert

Legendary newswoman, author and Nantucket resident Natalie Jacobson will host the 25th annual Boston Pops on Nantucket on August 13th at Jetties Beach.

The event serves as Nantucket Cottage Hospital's largest fundraiser of the year. For Jacobson, it will be her eighth time hosting the Boston Pops on Nantucket, having previously hosted the first ever Boston Pops on Nantucket in the summer of 1997.

Jacobson rose to prominence throughout New England in the 1970s as an anchor at Boston’s WCVB-TV, Channel 5 News, where she anchored every major broadcast until her retirement in 2007.

“As we prepare for what will be a truly historic event, who better to host the extraordinary occasion, than the voice that opened the first ever Boston Pops on Nantucket,” said Bruce and Elisabeth Percelay, event co-chairs. “Natalie’s presence as host underpins the notion that this is an event for Nantucket, by Nantucketers, for the most vital non-profit on the island; Nantucket Cottage Hospital.”

Since 1997, the Boston Pops on Nantucket, presented by White Elephant Resorts and Jill and Stephen Karp, continues to be the island’s largest summer event, bringing together thousands of community members on the beach.

The event brings in millions of dollars to help support the hospital’s operations. With the Boston Pops on Nantucket now fully approved following the Nantucket Select Board meeting last month, general admission ticket sales are open through Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s website.
