This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from Monday’s Nantucket District Court session.
Cleon Oniel Andrews, 40, of Nantucket, was arraigned on June 1 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and speeding. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 1 for a pretrial hearing.
Richard D. Foulkes, 34, of Nantucket, was arraigned on May 31 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 1 for a pretrial hearing.
Newton Friese, 56, of New Canaan, Connecticut, was arraigned on May 30 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, child endangerment while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, speeding, and a motor vehicle lights violation. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 1 for a pretrial hearing.
Gustavo Costa Generoso, 25, of Nantucket, was arraigned on June 2 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court June 24 for a pretrial hearing.
Bradford R. Grant, 47, of Nantucket, was found not guilty on September 29 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a motor vehicle lights violation.
Charles McGowan, 32, of Nantucket, pleaded guilty to Nov. 16, 2023 charges of operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and using a motor vehicle without authority.
On the first charge, McGowan was ordered to complete 18 months of probation and complete recovery court. On counts two, three, and five, McGowan had one year in the Barnstable House of Corrections suspended for 18 months on the condition he complete his 18 months of probation without a violation. If McGowan violates his probation in any way, he could be sentence to three years in jail.
McGowan was found not responsible on the fourth charge, which was speeding, as part of the plea deal.
After being continued without a finding for six months, Dunia Ramirez-Perez, 42, of Nantucket, had a Sept. 16, 2021 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed.
Jesus A. Ramos, 52, of Chelsea, Massachusetts, was arraigned on Jan. 19 charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and had the charges dismissed on the condition he pay $300 in court costs.
Angel Gabriel Chavez Vasquez, 35, of Nantucket, was arraigned on a May 29 charge of assault on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 22 for a pretrial hearing.
Sanjean Melecia Wallace Chambers, 36, of Nantucket, had a Nov. 15, 2023 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed and will have two Nov. 16, 2023 charges of assault & battery stemming from the same incident dismissed on the condition he complete six months of pretrial probation.
