- Boys Basketball Game: The boys basketball team will host the Nauset Warriors at 5 p.m.
- Maritime Game Night: Shut The Box Tournament At Cisco Brewers: From 5:30-7 p.m. at the Brewery, Shut the Box, Canoga, or “Batten Down the Hatches” is an old dice gambling game played at sea that has become a pub pastime. What better place to try out this maritime entertainment and test your strategic skills than at Cisco Brewery? They will have low-stakes friendlies games as well as a tournament for those willing to heighten the stakes.
- Teen Game Night: Go play games at the library. Teens and tweens are invited to play a selection of Nintendo Switch games like Just Dance and Mario Party and many more. The games will rotate and are first-come, first-served. This will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Atheneum's gallery.
- Free Teen Skate: There will be a free teen skate for kids grades 8-12 from 7-8 p.m. Pizza will be provided.
Saturday, February 7th:
- Sowing Seeds And Winter Plant Work With Stacey Cooper, NCF's Native Plant Propogation Manager: A new opportunity as part of the Nantucket Conservation's Native Plant Propagation Program. Learn how to clean and sow seeds of native plants, and about the materials that can be used. Help the NCF's team prepare plants for their property and yours. Space is limited but they keep a waitlist register here. From 9-11 a.m.
- Ravenous Reptiles: Join MMA staff on a tour as they feed the hungry animals at the Natural Science Museum. Learn about the unique adaptations of turtles, frogs, snakes, and more at the MMA Natural Science Museum. You will get to learn about and interact with several of the MMA Natural Science Museum educational animals. This is a great way to learn about native and non-native species up-close, especially if you love animals. At least one adult must sign up with children. This program is designed to be interesting for adults and children ages 4 and older. This program meets at the MMA Natural Science Museum at 7 Milk Street from 9-9:45 a.m. Learn more and register here.
- Grab & Go Bag: Frilled Neck Lizards: From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., this week's Grab & Go Bag activity at the Atheneum will feature people making a frilled neck lizard out of cardboard. While supplies last in the Weezie Library.

- Nantucket Black History Month 2026: Celebrating The Intergenerational Power Of Black Arts: Celebrate Black History Month with an afternoon of creativity, culture, and community at Nantucket Black History Month 2026: Celebrating the Intergenerational Power of Black Arts. From 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the historic African Meeting House (27 York Street)for a joyful and inspiring gathering that highlights the voices, stories, and artistic traditions that connect generations. This interactive celebration features performances byNeville Richen, Nantucket High School senior, Danielle Lewis, and Ecliff’s Jazz Trio, blending spoken word, music, and youth-led expression. The afternoon will also include a panel discussion and powerful keynote from Massachusetts Poet Laureate, Regie Gibson, whose work brings history, humanity, and hope together through the arts. - Boys Basketball Game: The boys basketball team will host East Boston at 12:30 p.m.
- Live Theatre With The Nantucket Stage Company: The Drowsy Chaperone: Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Tony-winning musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone JR., is a loving, hilarious homage to the Golden Age of musicals and there will be performances at the Bennett Hall (62 Centre Street) courtesy of the Nantucket Stage Company. With colorful characters, outrageous situations, and unforgettable musical numbers, it’s the perfect show for everyone. A devoted fan shares his favorite 1928 musical record—and as it spins, the story magically comes to life in his apartment! Lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters disguised as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and a sleepy chaperone collide in a whirlwind of laughter and music. Drowsy Chaperone opened on Broadway on May 1, 2006, and won five Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards. - National Theater Live: Hamlet: From 2-5 p.m., Experience Shakespeare’s Hamlet as never before with this powerful National Theatre Live presentation, captured live from the stage and screened on the big screen at the Dreamland. - Shipwreck Showtimes: A Maritime Film Series: Beginning at 4 p.m., join Egan Maritime for Egan’s 2026 Shipwreck Showtimes, a free series of maritime films for the community. Egan is hosting Sunday afternoon screenings of three critically acclaimed movies: a fantasy drama (at the Lifesaving Museum), an animated adventure tale (at the Dreamland), and a documentary (location to be announced). Monday, February 9th:
- Mommy (Or Daddy) And Me Yoga: From 10-10:30 a.m. at the Atheneum, join certified yoga instructor Jill Baez for some fun yoga with your little one. Start the day playfully connecting to our bodies and our little ones. Move, stretch, and breathe together. Begin to explore the connection between our bodies and the present moment. Space is limited to one caregiver per child.
- Nourish Nantucket: "Thought For Food" Community Presentation: From 2-3 p.m. in the Atheneum's Great Hall, join Nourish Nantucket for its community presentation series entitled “Thought for Food.” Each program will provide an update on Nourish Nantucket's work to end food insecurity with its network of partners and a short presentation from a guest speaker in the food sector. In February, they are honored to co-present with the Nantucket Land Bank and MassWildlife on the venison harvesting program. Refreshments provided by Born & Bread.
Science Pub - Meet Your Coastal Neighbors: Sandbar Sharks Around Nantucket: From 5-6 p.m. via Zoom, Caroline Collatos, Ph.D. candidate at UMass Boston and the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium, will discuss her dissertation research focused on sandbar shark presence, residency, and annual habitat use along Nantucket’s shoreline. Join to learn more about these fascinating, often misunderstood fish that call our local waters home from early summer to early fall. Register here.
- Writing Group: Letters Against Isolation: From 6-7:30 p.m. at the Atheneum, have you ever wanted to help build community, disrupt isolation and share joy & hope through the written word? Join us & year round islander, Margaret Hewitt, as we participate in a letter writing party as part of Letters Against Isolation, an organization seeking to fight senior loneliness, one letter at a time. Materials for letter writing will be provided along with light beverages. Free admission.
Breaking the Stress Cycle: Integrated Approaches To Optimal Health: From 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Atheneum, Brandon Jellison from Lavender Farm Wellness, Erin Holdgate of Waveform Flexibility, and Penny Hanson, the current woman chiropractor on Island, will be asked questions by Joann Burnham owner of Dharma Yoga, as the moderator focusing on their integrated approaches for how to manage stress. As winter is often a tough time for many on Island and in lieu of the New Year, this is for the community, to access to information and concepts of how to take care of themselves better from an integrated perspective. - Best Screenplays Of The 21st Century: Mad Max: Fury Road: From 7-9:30 p.m. at the Dreamland, Best Screenplays of the 21st Century presents Mad Max: Fury Road, a high-octane apocalyptic epic set in a stark desert wasteland where humanity has fractured and survival is everything. Two rebels on the run fight to restore order in a world driven by chaos, making this film a landmark in modern screenwriting. This is free for Dreamland members while general public tickets are $20. - ELL Group Conversation - Intermediate: Practice conversational English in a friendly group setting from 7-8 p.m. Conversation will center around everyday life, American culture, current events around the U.S. and the world, and other topics that may inspire us. Tuesday, February 10th:
- Cinema For The Very Young: Every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Dreamland, join the theater with your little ones for a sensory-friendly Rated G or All Ages screening of a film/series (titles will not be announced in advance). Tickets are free and available online or at the box office. All children in attendance must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver throughout the 90 minute program. Lights will be left on at medium strength and the volume of the screening turned down to a moderate level to accommodate and encourage socialization. Learn more and get tickets here.
- Somatic Yoga At The Atheneum: Join the Atheneum at 12:30 p.m. for a yoga practice for everyone. You will move through the practice focusing your attention on what it feels like to be in the body through slow focused movement. The group will conclude with a full body relaxation. This is a short 45 minute practice that will leave one feeling relaxed and recharged in order to move into the remainder of their day with a brighter view and the ability to be fully present. - Golden Age Films: Double Idemnity: Nantucket Dreamland’s Golden Age Films series continues with Double Indemnity, a legendary film noir about a seductive housewife and an insurance salesman drawn into a deadly plot of greed, adultery, and murder. Stylish, suspenseful, and endlessly influential, it remains one of the greatest thrillers ever made. Members and seniors attend free. General Public tickets are $13. From 1:30-3 p.m.
- Burger Night At The Nantucket Hotel: In addition to their regular dinner menu, join The Nantucket Hotel Breeze Bar for Burger Night. Enjoy a special burger menu with gourmet toppings, crispy fries, and all your favorites — a fun, flavorful night out in a cozy island setting. - Meditation At The Atheneum: Each weekly class includes a short talk, a guided meditation, and time for reflection or questions—designed to support a clearer understanding of the methods and help build a consistent meditation practice. Registration is required. No experience needed. Open to all. From 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday's With Campbell: An informal discussion on items related to the community led by Campbell Sutton. From 5:30-7 p.m. on the first floor of the Atheneum.
- ELL Beginner English Courses: Practice conversational English in a friendly group setting. Conversation will center around everyday life, American culture, current events around the U.S. and the world, and other topics that may inspire us. - Open Arts Night: Open Mic Night has expanded into Open Arts Night at the Atheneum. Their stage and mic are still open for any and all, but now they've added an arts & craft component so people may feel free to come and work on any kind of art project while watching the stage show. Bring your knitting, embroidery, coloring pages, wrap gifts, or just come and enjoy the space and listen to the music. Cut loose and express yourself up in the acoustically stellar Great Hall from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
