What's Going On Around Nantucket?

Friday, January 16th:
- Teen Game Night: Go play games at the library. Teens and tweens are invited to play a selection of Nintendo Switch games like Just Dance and Mario Party and many more. The games will rotate and are first-come, first-served. This will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Atheneum's gallery.
- Free Teen Skate At Nantucket Ice: There will be a free teen skate at the Nantucket Ice Rink from 7:30-8:20 p.m. This is for grades 8-12, and there will be pizza provided
Saturday, January 17th:
- Ravenous Reptiles: Join MMA staff on a tour as they feed the hungry animals at the Natural Science Museum. Learn about the unique adaptations of turtles, frogs, snakes, and more at the MMA Natural Science Museum. You will get to learn about and interact with several of the MMA Natural Science Museum educational animals. This is a great way to learn about native and non-native species up-close, especially if you love animals. At least one adult must sign up with children. This program is designed to be interesting for adults and children ages 4 and older. This program meets at the MMA Natural Science Museum at 7 Milk Street from 9-9:45 a.m. Learn more and register here.
- Nature Storytime With Animal Friends: Enjoy this program designed for the young explorer in your family. During each session, an MMA educator will read a nature or science themed book, introduce you to one of the MMA's animal friends, and will finish up with an activity related to the story. This is a recurring program, but the specific focus and materials provided will change each week. At least one adult must sign up with children. This program is designed to be interesting for children ages 3 and older. This program meets at the MMA Natural Science Museum at 7 Milk Street from 11-11:45 a.m. Learn more and register here.
- New Year's Wishing Wand: From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Atheneum, head to the Weezie Library to make a magic wand for the New Year. After you make your wand, make a wish for the New Year. Open as long as supplies last.
Sunday, January 18th:
- NCTV Filmmaking Workshop: Free to the community and beginning at 9:30 a.m., NCTV is hosting a free workshop upstairs at the Dreamland Studio Theater. Community members will come together to learn fundamentals, workshop ideas, and network with one another. Get a head start on your NSF26 Short Film. Participants must reserve a free ticket for entry. New England Patriots Divisional Playoff Viewing Information: The New England Patriots are playing the Houston Texans at 3:05 p.m. in the AFC Divisional Round, and the game will be broadcasted by ESPN/ABC.
