- Toddler Story Time: From 9:30-10 a.m. and for children ages up to three, join the Atheneum for some short stories, fingerplays, and songs designed to foster pre-literacy skills. Space is limited and tickets will be available at the Weezie Desk when the library opens.

Winter Series: Paper Marbling With Mary Emery Lacoursiere: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head to The 1800 House (4 Mill Street) for aa marbling workshop we will focus on the “Stone “pattern, one of the earliest patterns used for marbling. Learn how to create patterns and use color to achieve a variety of effects on homemade decorative papers. Learn more and register here.

- Preschool Story Time: From 10:30-11 a.m. and for children ages three years and older, join the Atheneum for a special 30 minute story time featuring new and classic stories, fingerplays, and songs.

- Special Exhibition: Art From The Schools:
Nantucket students from all schools and districts grades 6-12 showcase their works from art classes at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery located at 8 Federal Street. There will be a reception from 3:30-4:30 p.m., where Lloyd Schultz Awards will be presented to students in high school. This will be open to the public 12-5 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

- Free Sip & Stitch At Erica Wilson: From 6-7:30 p.m., join Erica Wilson at 25 Main Street for an evening of creativity, conversation, and community. At their weekly Sip & Stitch event, you’ll enjoy a soft drink in hand while stitching something beautiful (or festive, depending on the season). Whether you’re a seasoned embroiderer or threading your first needle, their team will be there to guide and inspire you every step of the way. You can expect a cozy, social setting inside their Nantucket shop; all stitching supplies available for purchase — just bring yourself; seltzer water provided, if you prefer any other beverages please bring yourself; and a chance to relax, laugh, and make something lovely. - ELL Beginner & Intermediate English Courses: ELL Beginner’s & Intermediate English class for those seeking to improve their English language skills and seeking to learn basic conversation used in daily activities. The Literacy Volunteers of the Atheneum (LVA) offer a drop-in beginner class every Thursday evening at the library at 6 p.m. The class is free, conducted in English and pre-registration is not required. - Philosophy Club In The Great Hall: Calling all Deep Thinkers and Ponderers, join us Thursday Evenings in the Great Hall for thoughtful and engaging conversation. Led by reference librarian staff member, James Grieder. This group is free and open to all ages from 6-7:30 p.m.

- TWN Presents: Calendar Girls: Beginning today, March 26th through Sunday, April 12th, Theatre Workshop of Nantucket (62 Centre Street) will be presenting Calendar Girls at 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 5 p.m. on Sundays. Summary: Set in a small Yorkshire village and based on a true story, Calendar Girls follows middle-aged friends Annie and Chris. When Annie’s husband is struck by leukemia, Chris persuades their Women’s Institute to raise money for the hospital waiting room by producing a nude calendar of WI members—tastefully done, as well as hilariously and courageously. As the calendar takes off, the women confront friendship, grief, identity, and community. What begins as a local fundraising idea becomes a larger-than-expected movement of hope, humor, and empowerment. Dreamland Comedy Nights: A Night Of Stand-Up & Storytelling: From 7-9 p.m., the Dreamland Comedy Nights: A Night of Stand-Up & Storytelling program, is back with your favorite local comedy team for an evening of sharp stand-up, absurd storytelling, and hot takes on life, love, and everything in between. Featuring Sandy Kohner, David Hayes, Sarah Fraunfelder, and John Eboli, this rotating lineup of well-meaning idiots promises a night of comedy that may or may not have been worth leaving your house for — but you’ll definitely want to say you were there. From existential witchcraft to sneaking sugar into the food of unsuspecting rich people, nothing is off limits. Recommended for mature audiences. Winter Series: Fancy Folios & Book Boxes: From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in this workshop you will have a choice of projects: a book box or a fancy folio. Both of these structures are useful, as well as making a great gift. You will use marbled papers or other decorative papers you have for this project, or choose from our selection of marbled papers. All materials provided. This session is provided at a low cost with thanks to the generous support of Eleish Van Breems Home. Registration is required.

- Free Guided Nature Walk: Restoration and Resilience at LLNF – Nature Walk with Dr. Sarah Bois: From 10-11 a.m., join Dr. Sarah Bois, Director of Research and Education, for a guided tour of the eastern side of the LLNF property, a section currently closed to the public. She’ll showcase LLNF research and restoration in action, highlight habitat diversity, and give attendees a sneak peak of this gem of a property. We’ll also have great opportunities for viewing ducks on Long Pond. Walking over the LLNF's gently rolling trails, you’ll explore sandplain grasslands and coastal heathland habitats, and enjoy views of Long Pond as you traverse a portion of the Linda Loring Nature Foundation's Eel Point Road property. Unwind Under The Whale: Historic Imagery Collage: From 5:30-7 p.m. at the Whaling Museum, Unwind Under the Whale is a monthly series at the Whaling Museum, each featuring a special activity, light bites, and unique history components Learn about historic imagery preservation from Archivist Amelia Holmes and use images from the NHA collection to create a one-of-a-kind collage. - Spring Community Wellness Day: From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., following the success of the first Winter Community Wellness Day, the momentum will be carried forward with the launch of a Spring Community Wellness Day, taking place in the Studio Theatre at the Dreamland. - Ravenous Reptiles: Join MMA staff on a tour as they feed the hungry animals at the Natural Science Museum. Learn about the unique adaptations of turtles, frogs, snakes, and more at the MMA Natural Science Museum. You will get to learn about and interact with several of the MMA Natural Science Museum educational animals. This is a great way to learn about native and non-native species up-close, especially if you love animals. At least one adult must sign up with children. This program is designed to be interesting for adults and children ages 4 and older. This program meets at the MMA Natural Science Museum at 7 Milk Street from 9-9:45 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended as programs do fill up but walk-ins are welcome subject to availability. - Grab & Go Bag: Thumbprint Art: From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., this week in the Weezie Library in the Atheneum, they will be making thumbprint art inspired by the books of Ed Emberley. Who knew that with just some ink, your thumb, and a little imagination you could create so many fun characters.

- Cinema For The Very Young: Every Tuesday and Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Dreamland, join the theater with your little ones for a sensory-friendly Rated G or All Ages screening of a film/series (titles will not be announced in advance). Tickets are free and available online or at the box office. All children in attendance must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver throughout the 90 minute program. Bartlett's Farm Annual Easter Egg Hunt:
From 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Bartlett's Farm, join them for their annual egg hunt. Kids 10 & under are invited to search the greenhouse. Collect 10 eggs and exchange them for a goody bag. Keep an eye out for special prize eggs! White, bunny eggs with a bit of cash will be hidden for the kiddos. There will also be golden eggs for the adults to find. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos.This event is first come, first served so we recommend arriving on time. Garden Center doors will open at 10:30.

- Mindful Minute: Connecting To Art And History Through Conversation: Drop-in and join the NHA for a mindful museum experience. Discover connections to art and history as Museum guides create conversation about works in our collection. From 10:45 - 11:15 a.m. at the Whaling Museum. This is free to attend.

- Nature Storytime: Enjoy this program designed for the young explorer in your family. During each session, an MMA educator will read a nature or science themed book, introduce you to one of the MMA's animal friends, and will finish up with an activity related to the story. This is a recurring program, but the specific focus and materials provided will change each week. At least one adult must sign up with children. This program is designed to be interesting for children ages 3 and older. This program meets at the MMA Natural Science Museum at 7 Milk Street from 11-11:45 a.m. Learn more and register here.

- Club For Russian-Speaking Kids And Parents: From 11-12 p.m. at the Atheneum in the gallery, they're excited to invite you and your little ones to their club for Russian-speaking kids and parents in the cozy atmosphere of the Nantucket Atheneum Library. You will explore the joy of learning and playing in Russian with reading captivating books; fun games for kids of all ages; watching favorite movies and cartoons; singing cheerful songs and dancing; and creative and educational activities for the whole family. This club is perfect for children of all ages (0+), so bring the whole family along for a morning full of fun and connection.

No Kings Protest At The Milestone Rotary:
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Milestone Rotary, there will be a protest led by Indivisible Nantucket, where they say to "rise up, take to the Milestone Rotary and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings, and NO WARS. We’re not watching history happen—we’re changing it." There will be live music by local band Indigo Aguila. They are asking people to bring signs, bring friends, bring your voice in joining the national day of mobilization on Nantucket. They added that "a core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events."

- Farm Talk At Bartlett's Farm - Leah Hill, Coastal Resiliency: From 12-1 p.m. at Bartlett's Farm in the Hayloft, Leah Hill, Coastal Resilience Coordinator for the Town of Nantucket, will be the featured speaker at Farm Talks. As Nantucket faces increasing climate-related challenges, coastal resilience planning is critical for protecting the island’s infrastructure, ecosystems, and historic character. Hill will discuss ongoing initiatives to address sea level rise, coastal erosion, and storm impacts. Her presentation will provide an overview of current projects, long-term adaptation strategies, and ways for residents to get involved in safeguarding the island’s future. This session offers a unique opportunity to learn how local government, community partners, and residents are working together to build a more resilient Nantucket. The Farm Talks series at Bartlett’s Farm highlights local leaders and organizations shaping the island’s future, offering a space for meaningful community conversation. - Maple Fest At The Fairgrounds:
From 1:30-5 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Restaurant, the first annual Maple Fest will take place to celebrate the Fairgrounds Restaurant's grand reopening. Go check out the new menu and community space with your neighbors and kids. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a Nanpuppets Show, 2-4 p.m. Maple Boil Demo, face painting, and balloon art will be available, and from 4-5 p.m. there will be a line dancing lesson & jam.

- Hometown Hoedown At The Chicken Box: From 7-11 p.m. at the Chicken Box, go have fun and support Small Friends at their 10th annual Hometown Hoedown fundraiser. There will be live music, wine & spirit pull, a 50/50 raffle, line dancing, silent auction, and a signature drink.

- Peeps Diorama Contest Drop-Off: All day from today through Saturday, April 4th, it's the Atheneum's 14th Annual Peeps Diorama Contest. Make a diorama based on a book or literary theme using marshmallow Peeps as your characters. Open to all ages and they will have winners in four categories: Children, Family, Teen, and Adult. Drop off your creation at the Weezie Library from Monday, March 30 through Saturday, April 4th, and then stop by to vote for your favorites April 6th through April 11th. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 15th. Rules: Dioramas must be based on a book or literary theme; Place the title on the front of your diorama, but not your name; characters must be portrayed by Peeps; use a shoe or boot sized box; please limit the use of food items (other than Peeps); one entry per person; Dioramas must be submitted with an entry form; and all entries must be in good taste. *The Atheneum reserves the right to omit any entries it feels are not appropriate for public viewing.*

- Low Cost Nail Trim Clinic At NiSHA: From 1-4 p.m. at the offshore animal hospital/NiSHA (11 Crooked Lane), NiSHA is offering low cost, affordable pet nail trims. Join them on specific days each month in the back parking lot. Cats are welcome between 12:30-1 m. and must be in a pet carrier.No appointment is necessary - first come, first served. Payment is $25, CASH ONLY please.

- One Book, One Island Community Celebration: From 3-6 p.m. in the Great Hall, the Nantucket Atheneum will host a One Book, One Island Celebration in honor of this years selection All that Smolders: A Mystery by James Sulzer. From 3-4 p.m. there will be a book discussion, where you will join them for a lively conversation about All That Smolders, moderated by Inquirer and Mirror Editor, Josh Balling. Author James Sulzer will be in attendance to share insights and answer questions. From 4:15-4:45 p.m., Page to Stage will take place. Excerpts from All That Smolders featuring Local Actors. Then from 5-6 p.m., there will be a Trivia Game - Test your knowledge with a fun and engaging trivia game inspired by the book. Play with a team or tackle the questions solo. Prizes awarded to top winners. This is free and open to all.
