Monday, June 23rd

  • NCF Guided Bike Tour: Join avid cyclist and NCF Trustee Jim Meehan to tour the trails and dirt roads of the Middle Moors or Ram Pasture. The tour runs from 8-10 a.m. Free with registration.
  • MMA Marine Ecology Field Trip: Join the Maria Mitchell Association to collect, identify, and release marine creatures. This program meets at the Hither Creek Beach Access (near 25 Massachusetts Ave.) Overflow parking is located at 6 Massachusetts Ave. All registered children must be accompanied by a registered adult to participate in this program. Personal transport to and from the meeting location is required to participate. Cost Per Participant: $35. 8:30-10:00 a.m.

Tuesday, June 24th

  • Feeding Frenzy at MMA Aquarium: Join MMA Aquarists and staff as they feed the ever-hungry creatures at the Aquarium before it opens to the public. Pre-registration recommended. $175 for a group of up to 5 people. 9:00 a.m. at 32 Washington Street.
  • Nanpuppets at Cisco Brewery: Performance at Cisco Brewery featuring handmade puppets created by Lizza Obremski. Donations appreciated! 11:30 a.m. at 5 Bartlett Farm Road.
  •  Somatic Yoga at the Atheneum: A short 45 minute practice that will leave one feeling relaxed and recharged in order to move into the remainder of our day with a brighter view and the ability to be fully present. Please bring your own Yoga mat. Space is very limited so if you find out you can't come, please cancel so someone else on the waitlist can have your seat. Free with pre-registration from 12:30-1:45 p.m., 1 India Street.
  • Nighttime Horseshoe Crab Walk: Join NCF’s Environmental Educator, Isaac Hersh, on an exciting program at Little Neck in Madaket Harbor. Learn about our ongoing research at the height of horseshoe crab mating season and experience the ecology of Nantucket’s harbor-facing beaches at night. Get acquainted with some of the island’s nocturnal wildlife like horseshoe crabs, eels, night herons and more. Space is limited. Water-shoes/boots required. Headlamps/flashlights recommended. Free with registration. 9:00-10:30 p.m.
  • Stitching at a Distance: Mid-Century Embroidery, Gender, and the Hidden History of Home Study with Rebecca Tolley from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Whaling Museum. Her talk explores mid-century needlework and reveals how embroidery is an art-form and a pathway for economic empowerment.

Wednesday, June 25th

  • Foghorn Speaker Series: Fishing For Food & Money: Moderated by Tobias Glidden and featuring longtime fisherman Carl Sjolund, the panel will offer personal perspectives and historical context on the changing nature of this vital local industry. Located at the Nantucket Shipwreck and Life Saving Museum, 158 Polpis Road. $15 per adult, $7 per youth and free to members.

Thursday, June 26th

  • Head to the Nantucket Atheneum at 1 India Street and get ready to move, groove, and giggle at our Dance Party in the Garden! Every Thursday morning, Cory Morgan leads an energetic, joy-filled dance time with songs, silly dance moves, and fun challenges like Freeze Dance and the Cha-Cha Slide, this is the perfect way for kids to kick off a summer day with smiles and movement! Don't forget to bring a blanket! In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled. Free to all, 9:45-10:30 a.m.
  • NCF Shorebird Walk: Take a beautiful beach walk out to Eel Point and see shorebird conservation in action. Led by NCF’s Wildlife Technician, Gracie Bell and NCF Staff visit an important breeding site, learn about the nesting ecology of our annual residents, and appreciate their complex journey of protection. Open to all birding levels. This walk will go through soft sand and can be strenuous. Please bring sunscreen, water, binoculars, and walking shoes that could get wet. Space is limited. Free with registration. 9:00-11:00 a.m.
  • Ethos Wine Bar and Nantucket Shellfish Association: Wine and Brine from 4-6 p.m. at Ethos Wine Bar and Bistro. An evening cocktail party celebrating local oysters and delicious wine, with local oyster farmers shucking! Get your tickets here.
  • "Real and Unreal" Exhibition Opening: Join us for a reception for our popular "Real and Unreal" exhibition featuring large photography and abstract artworks from our Artist Members. Light bites and refreshments to be served. 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Federal Gallery on 8 Federal Street.
  • NCEA Dinner by the Hive: Guests will enjoy a freshly-prepared dinner at The Hive, 5 Amelia Drive. This event is for seniors 60 and over. $35 per person. Call 508-325-4181 to RSVP.   • Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is delighted to announce the opening of its highly anticipated Summer Small Works exhibition, hosted in the Big Gallery on the second floor of the historic Thomas Macy Warehouse, located at 12 Straight Wharf. Open Daily: 10:00-5:00 p.m. 

Friday, June 27th

  • Maria Mitchell Association: Ravenous Reptiles where you can learn about turtles, frogs snakes and more at the MMA Natural Science Museum. 9-9:45 a.m. at 7 Milk Street.
  • LLNF Nature Ramble: Walk over gently rolling trails, explore sand plain grasslands and coastal heathland habitats, and enjoy views of Long Pond as we traverse a portion of the Linda Loring Nature Foundation's Eel Point Road property, 110 Eel Point Road. Rambles are free to attend and open to all! 10:00-11:00 a.m.

  • Baskets, Bubbles & Bourbon: Join the Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) for our annual summer fundraiser, celebrating the rich tradition of Nantucket lightship baskets! We are especially proud to recognize collector Max Berry for his outstanding support and dedication to preserving this iconic island craft. Located at the Hadwen House Garden, 96 Main Street. Standard Ticket: $250 Leadership Ticket: $500. 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Stargazing at Loines Observatory: MMA staff will guide you in viewing astronomical objects through our historic 8-inch Alvan Clark refractor and our modern 24-inch research telescope. Get a chance to view the Moon, planets, star clusters, nebulae and even other galaxies. Please dress for the weather conditions at the event time, as this event takes place outside at 59 Milk Street Extension. $25 per adult, $15 per youth participant. Pre-register online. 9:30-10:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 28th

  • 24th Annual Race for Space: This 5k/10k race or 2-mile walk attracts serious runners, casual joggers, walkers and those are simply avid conservation supporters. Proceeds from the race will support the Nantucket Conservation Foundation's mission to steward and protect the island's invaluable open spaces. 8:00 a.m. bib pick-up and pre-registration at 118 Cliff Road.   • Join the Nantucket Clean Team, a group of likeminded volunteers who get together at 8:00 am on Saturday mornings to pick up litter and other debris others have left behind. Please join us and invite friends and family. Meet at Fisherman's Beach parking lot off of Nonantum Ave.
  • Sustainable Nantucket Farmers & Artisans Market: Every Saturday downtown between Cambridge and Union Street 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Local artisans, handmade crafts and good company.

Sunday, June 29th

  • Nantucket Bird Walk: Explore Nantucket’s birdy landscapes and hidden nooks with local bird guide and Inky Mirror columnist, Ginger Andrews. Children 8 and up are welcome with an adult guardian. Loner binoculars available. Wear sensible shoes, dress for the weather. Meet at 33 Washington Street at 7:45 AM. Please park at the Town Lot next door. Pre-registration is recommended as programs do fill up but walk-ins are welcome subject to availability. Cost Per Participant: $30 (Members receive a 20% discount).   • Outdoor Restorative Yoga at NCF: Drop into this calming and centering practice of restorative yoga immersed in the peaceful setting of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation's properties, 118 Cliff Road. Be guided through the gentle movement, stretching and breath work of a traditional 60-minute restorative class in open space. Free with pre-registration, on calendar page of nantucketconservation.org. 5:00-6:00 p.m.
