Cape Air Flight Makes Harrowing, One-Wheel Landing In Boston
Nantucket Current •
A Cape Air plane made a harrowing landing on just one wheel on Wednesday at Boston's Logan Airport.
The Cessna aircraft departed from Logan Wednesday afternoon on a flight to Maine when the pilot quickly reported a hydraulic issue, according to an FAA source. The pilot did a flyby of the tower and was told he only had one of the plane's three landing gears down.
The Cessna then returned to Logan for an emergency landing with just one wheel down. The pilot executed "a perfect landing," the source said.
There were no injuries reported. The National Transit Safety Board is investigating.
