A car was discovered submerged at the Children’s Beach boat ramp early Sunday morning.

A first responder source tells the Current the driver was uninjured.

The Nissan Rogue with Florida plates went into the waters of Nantucket Harbor sometime around 2 a.m.

The Nantucket Police Department, Nantucket Fire Department, State Police Troopers along with Nantucket Harbormaster Sheila Lucey and her crew all responded to the scene early Sunday.

The Children’s Beach boat ramp gate has been closed and will remain so until the vehicle can be removed. Lucey told the Current they are attempting to get a diver to assist in getting the vehicle out of the water as soon as possible.

This is a developing story and this post will be updated.
