Chamber Opens New Round Of "Rock Solid" Small Business Grants

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce has announced that the sixth round of its "Rock Solid Grants" is now open to receive applications. The application process is completely online and the link can be found on the Chamber website, nantucketchamber.org.

The Rock Solid grants, funded in part by the Town of Nantucket and ReMain Ventures, began in the fall of 2020 as a way to assist Nantucket businesses during a difficult economic period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The grants have continued and expanded since then to include five rounds of Rock Solid and one specific technology-focused grant cycle called Tap Into Technology. The Chamber has given 87 grants for over $433,000 through these six grant cycles which have assisted on-island businesses with farm equipment, point-of-sales systems, electric landscaping equipment conversion, and other entrepreneurial endeavors. This next round of grants aims to support a new group of businesses with their plans to expand, enhance, and explore.

The Rock Solid Fund, administered by the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce, provides grants to Nantucket-based small businesses to ensure their contribution toward a strong island economy. Ideally, applicants will use funds to execute an innovative project to ensure the growth and economic stability of their own business while creating a positive role model for others in the entrepreneurial community.

To apply for a Rock Solid Grant, the business must complete all questions on the application and provide attachments as required. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All information is confidential and will only be shared with the Review Committee for the purpose of evaluating the application. Those applicants selected to receive a grant must sign an agreement for restricted use of the funds based on their accepted application.
