Community Foundation Announces $500K In Grants To Island Non-Profits

The Community Foundation for Nantucket announced $500,000 in grant funding to island organizations on Monday through its Nantucket Fund.

The annual grants - intended to help address the island's "most critical needs and initiatives - support a variety of programs from pre-kindergarten readiness to elder services, trauma therapy, and affordable housing.

This year, the Community Foundation has awarded grants to the following organizations and programs:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and Islands' Mentoring Program
• Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation Public Health Services
• Elder Services of Cape Cod and Islands' Meals On Wheels Program
• Fairwinds' Telehealth Hybrid Care
• Friends of Children's Cove Travel Support
• Habitat for Humanity's Affordable Home Ownership Support
• Health Imperatives' Health Equity Now
• Housing Nantucket's Affordable Rental Maintenance
• Maria Mitchell Association's STEM Mentoring Program
• Mass Audubon Nantucket Sanctuaries' Youth Environmental Stewards
• Nantucket Book Foundation's Authors in Schools Program
• Nantucket Center for Elder Affairs' Senior Events Programs
