The Community Foundation For Nantucket last Friday announced just over $345,000 in grants to island non-profit organizations.
CFN's Nantucket Fund focuses primarily on grants to the social services network in the Nantucket community. This year's grants went to 28 organizations to support a variety of programs including trauma therapy, as well as rental assistance for people facing acute financial needs, Meals on Wheels for housebound seniors, and funding for youth mentors.
“The programs supported through the Nantucket Fund tell the story of our ever-changing community, its diverse needs and people, and why the Nantucket Fund is so important," said Sunny Daily, CFN executive director. "The work non-profit leaders and the staff do every day supports our community in meaningful and impactful ways."
Since 2007, CFN's Nantucket Fund has supported community initiatives for affordable housing, behavioral health, education, childcare, elder services, and many more.
The $345,000 in grants distributed in 2023 was more than in any previous year.
