Nantucket's New Year's Baby Arrives

Nantucket's New Year's baby has arrived.

Christiaan Stockigt was the first baby born on the island in 2023, arriving Monday, Jan. 2 at Nantucket Cottage Hospital at 7:13 a.m. He is the son of proud parents Teodora and Steven Stockigt, and is the couple’s first child. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 7.1 ounces, and measured 20 inches.

Teodora is an assistant Human Resources director for the town of Nantucket, and Steven is a roofing and solar contractor.
