Nicko And Amy Fix Win Chamber's Pitch Competition With Island Salsa

Nicko and Amy Fix took home the $10,000 first place prize at the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce's Pitch Competition on Saturday night at The Dreamland with their "Broke Da Mouth Salsa" product.

The Pitch Competition, sponsored by the Chamber's Nantucket Island Center for Entrepreneurship and modeled after ABC's hit show "Shark Tank," featured four finalists pitching their business concepts to the "shark" judges.



Those judges included Ring founder Jamie Siminoff, best-selling author Elin Hilderbrand, and N Magazine publisher Bruce Percelay. John Shea once again serving as emcee.

The Fix's "Broke Da Mouth Salsa," made locally on Nantucket, is being marketed as a salsa with a "creamy yet smokey flavor with a slight kick." Nicko Fix, originally from San Diego, is currently the head chef at the Great Harbor Yacht Club. Amy Fix, originally from Hawaii, is the new general manager at Nantaco.

  • Second place: Nantucket Ōshen Brew Company - James Scheurell. A new, ready-to-drink cocktail which is a blend of Jun Kombucha, premium spirits, and organic flavors.
  • Third place (tie): Nantucket Salvage - Michele Kolb. A storage facility for the cataloguing and sales of salvaged historic and other re-usable building materials.
  • Third place (tie): Pampr - Brady Wilson. A platform that connects travelers with a personal butler and concierge service providers to save time while on vacation.
