During a ceremony on Friday, April 19 at 10 a.m., Coast Guard Station Brant Point will complete their annual tradition of hanging the Daffodil Wreath on the Brant Point Lighthouse. All members of the public are welcome to attend.

There will also be a retirement ceremony at the lighthouse for BM1 Charlie Smith, who is retiring after 20 years of service in the Coast Guard with the last six years being stationed on Nantucket.

The Station Brant Point crew gathered together to decorate the wreath Monday evening. Each year, the Coast Guard purchases the flowers used to give the wreath a makeover by using money from their morale fund. Smith also organized and supervised the building of the wreath.

After the wreath was decorated, the entire crew enjoyed a pizza party.
