A brawl broke out on Federal Street during the 51st Nantucket Christmas Stroll on Saturday, according to video obtained by the Current. Police responded to the scene around 2 p.m. and are still investigating, but as of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been made.
The incident occurred shortly after hundreds of people had gathered on Main Street to watch the arrival of Santa Claus. Witnesses said the people involved in the fracas declined to press charges. Over the weekend, police were seeking videos of the incident that were recorded by multiple onlookers.
It was the only blemish on what was otherwise a successful and enjoyable Stroll weekend that brought thousands of visitors to the island.
