Smith's Point Reopened To Beach Driving

Smith’s Point has been reopened to beach driving by the town, effective immediately.

Load up the Jeep (maybe leave the Land Rover at home? ) and air down the tires as one of Nantucket’s favorite spots for oversand vehicle traffic is back.

Smith’s Point has been closed to beach driving per order or @nrdack since June 23 due to the presence of protected shorebirds. The Natural Resources staff has been monitoring it daily since then to determine when the restriction could be lifted.
