The Charlie Noble restaurant, which has been shuttered since last fall, will not be reopening for the summer, but the establishment's future is now coming into focus.

The restaurant will reopen later this year with a new name and under new ownership. Richard Sullivan, Tyrone Di Stasi, and Jairo Dominguez's "Sneaky Good Hospitality" is taking over the restaurant and will be partnering with Charlie Noble proprietor Denise Corson on a new concept and an extensive interior renovation. The establishment will be reopened under a new name, and "will be a killer spot," Sullivan told the Current. He pledged that it will stay open year-round.

The opening date has yet to be determined, and although Sullivan and his partners submitted plans to the Nantucket Health Department referencing "The Point Restaurant," he said that is just one name under consideration among several others, and no decision had been made on what to call the new restaurant.

Those plans, however, show that the new ownership group intends to bring back the U-shaped bar that was a beloved feature of the restaurant when it was the Atlantic Cafe years ago.

The Sneaky Good Hospitality team runs several Boston-based restaurants, including Bombola, The Flamingo, Rock & Rye, and Foxhole.

"We create, own, and operate original hospitality concepts from the ground up. Every venue is imagined from scratch, built with purpose, and brought to life through obsessive attention to vibe, detail, and soul," according to a statement shared with the Current by the Sneaky Good Hospitality group.

The building at 15 South Water Street, which is owned by Nantucket Island Resorts, is the previous site of the longtime island favorite The Atlantic Cafe. In the years since "The AC" closed down, it had been the site of several different restaurants and bars - including Nix's and the Sea Dog Brew Pub - before being stabilized under Fred Bisaillon and Denise Corson as The Charlie Noble in 2017.

Bisaillon has since stepped away from the restaurant industry, while Corson continues to run B-ACK Yard BBQ on Straight Wharf and will partner with the new restaurant ownership group taking over The Charlie Noble on their venture.
