Theatre Workshop of Nantucket (TWN) is bringing a beloved holiday favorite to the stage this week with "A Christmas Story," running November 25 through December 14. Based on the classic 1983 film, the comedy "captures the spirit of family, nostalgia, and the magic of Christmas," TWN stated in its announcement of the show.

Set in 1940s Indiana, A Christmas Story follows nine-year-old Ralphie Parker as he dreams of the ultimate Christmas gift, an official Red Ryder BB gun. As Ralphie navigates the antics of school bullies, pink bunny pajamas, a temperamental furnace, and his father’s “major award,” audiences are reminded why this timeless story continues to warm hearts year after year.

Directed by Tim Booth, the production celebrates both the humor and the heart of the season. The cast features several of TWN’s returning Broadway artists, including Al Bundonis, Victoria Bundonis, and Jeremy Webb, alongside TWN newcomer Amy Baldwin. Rounding out the ensemble are seven talented Nantucket children, bringing youthful excitement and authenticity to the world of the Parkers.

They include Mykolas Zilys as Ralphie, Arleigh Roberts as Randy, Emmett Graziadei as Flick, Santiago Oviedo as Shwartz, Tomas Young as Scut Farkas, Maya Taha as Esther Jane, and Anaiah Eller as Helen Weathers

“This show embodies many things we love about theatre and the holidays, laughter, connection, and community,” said Bethany Oliver, TWN’s executive director. “It’s a story about family, about believing in magic, and about finding joy in the small moments. We’re especially proud to feature so many local young performers sharing the stage with our professional company."

Performances run November 25 through December 14 at Theatre Workshop of Nantucket. Tickets are available at theatrenantucket.org
