Two Planning Department Staffers On "Administrative Leave" For Nearly Two Months
Jason Graziadei •
Two town employees in the Planning & Land Use Services (PLUS) department have been on administrative leave for nearly two months and the situation remains under investigation by the town administration.
After receiving an inquiry from the Current, town manager Libby Gibson confirmed the two employees had been placed on leave, but declined to name them or elaborate on the circumstances that led to the decision. One of the employees was placed on leave on Jan. 30, and the other on Feb. 1. It's unclear if it is paid or unpaid leave.
"I can confirm that two PLUS employees have been placed on administrative leave," Gibson wrote in a message to the Current. "Because this is an internal personnel matter we are not able to provide you with specific details regarding that decision. The Town is currently investigating the matter and we expect that investigation to conclude shortly. Only after the investigation is complete will we be able to know the next steps."
Planning director Leslie Snell, the supervisor of the two employees, declined to address the matter, stating "I cannot provide any comments on any personnel matters."
Gibson stated the action to place the two employees on leave has not had an impact on services at the department.
"We have not been advised that there has been an impact on PLUS services," Gibson said.
This is a developing story and will be updated as we learn more.
