WATCH: Great White Shark Preys On Seal Off Great Point

A great white shark was filmed eating a seal just off the beach from the Great Point Lighthouse on Nantucket on Sunday.

This video was shared with the Current by Will Little, who captured it from a boat.

The incident was confirmed by Harbormaster Sheila Lucey who said it was indeed a great white.

The Trustees of Reservations, which manages the wildlife refuge that includes Great Point, had staff members warning beachgoers about the incident Sunday afternoon.

These types of encounters have become more common in recent years as Nantucket's seal population - especially the concentration around Great Point - has exploded.
