Former Select Board Candidate Amy Eldridge: "Don't Write Me In!"

Amy Eldridge •

To the editor: It is with deep sadness that I must officially withdraw from running for Select Board. Due to family health issues and the realities of needing to work as a member of the working class in this community, I am unable to continue my campaign at this time.

Please know that this is not the end of my involvement. I will continue to attend Select Board meetings, Town Meetings, and other local meetings, and I will keep advocating for the missing middle and the hardworking families of Nantucket.

I am aware that there has been talk of a write-in campaign on my behalf. While I am incredibly grateful for that level of support, I want to be clear that I would still be unable to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, given my current commitments.

Out of respect for the process and for those candidates who are able to serve, I ask that you do not write in my name. If you choose to support a write-in candidate, please give your full support to someone who is ready and able to take on the role and serve the community effectively.

I am deeply appreciative of all the encouragement and support I have received. This has been an emotional decision, but it is the right one for my family and my circumstances.

With gratitude,

Amy Eldridge
