Gratitude For An Unexpected Honor

To the editor: On Monday, September 8th, I was the recipient of the Nantucket Civic League's 2025 Civic Salute. I am so grateful for this unexpected honor recognizing my service to the community on the Finance Committee.

While I was singled out for this honor, it truly was a team effort: fellow FinCom members, Town Administration, and most importantly, all the civically active community members who tirelessly participated in our meetings and at Town Meetings.

We're a community that votes its values and invests both time and dollars into what makes Nantucket the special place that it is. Thank you to co-presidents Scott Wilson and Charles Stott, the rest of the Civic League executive committee, and its members. Lee Saperstein's presentation of the award was very special and made the evening even more memorable. I strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about joining a Town board, commission, or committee to do so. It is worthwhile, and the community will benefit from your participation.
