Pick Up After Your Dog

To the editor: Memorial Day has come and gone, and July 4th looms ahead. Already, our beaches are suffering. At Dionis, I found three large dog turds right in the path to the beach. Dog owners are not following our bylaws, risking a $1,000 fine is not helping, no one enforces the law. It is a health hazard to our waters and air. Please pick up after your dog and take it home, don't chuck it in the bushes and expect it to disappear. We live on the most lovely place with outstanding beaches. Why are you soiling them every day with dog waste? It is so terrible, every day I see more as I walk to take a swim. Be smart and respectful or our island will not stay the paradise it is.
