Dear Nantucket Community,

As I reflect on the past three years spent on this beautiful island, I am filled with immense gratitude for the warmth, kindness, and generosity you have extended to me and my family. Your welcoming spirit has made our time here truly unforgettable.

I want to express my deepest appreciation to every member that I have served with here at Station Brant Point. Your dedication to train in the harshest winter storms is inspiring. Dedicating your free time to the Brant Point Lighthouse ensuring its festive decorations for Daffy and Christmas, and putting up the flag with pride on the Fourth of July. Your commitment to preserving the traditions and spirit of Nantucket is truly inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Sheila Lucey and Shane from the Harbormaster, who have been invaluable sources of support and knowledge since my arrival. I am grateful for their guidance and assistance every step of the way. I also want to extend my gratitude to Chief Cranston and Kevin Ramos from the Fire Department, Chief Casper from the NPD, Sergeant Bates from the Mass State Police, and Sergeant Dave Wright from MEP for their collaboration and dedication to keeping our community safe.

To Jamie and the team at the Boys and Girls Club, thank you for your unwavering support of our members and for the incredible work you do for the youth of Nantucket. Your impact on their lives is immeasurable. I also want to recognize Miss Jazmine at the Nantucket Community School Gymnastics, Megan at Nantucket Community School Irish Step, and Mr. Andre at Werdom Jiu-Jitsu for their dedication to enriching the lives of our island's youth.

A special thank you goes out to the coaches and staff of Little League and ACK Lacrosse for their commitment to fostering teamwork and sportsmanship among our children. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Lastly, to my wife and children, Jackson and Lila, thank you for embracing this island as our home and for the countless memories and friendships we have made here. Your love and support have been my greatest blessings.

As I bid farewell to Nantucket, I carry with me cherished memories and lifelong friendships. Though my journey may take me to the nearby Cape, I know that I will always hold a piece of Nantucket in my heart. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything.

With warm regards,

Senior Chief Jeff Wecal
