Thank You, Nantucket

To the editor: Today, I simply want to say: thank you, Nantucket.

I am deeply grateful for this island and for the opportunity to live here, work here, learn, and grow while experiencing a different culture.

I especially want to thank all the people who were born and raised on Nantucket and who make it possible for people like me, who come from somewhere else, to be here, work, and build a life.

I recently returned from Honduras, where I went to visit my house, which is almost finished. As the plane was landing back in Nantucket, I felt something very deeply: gratitude for this land and for the opportunity to be here.

Sometimes we get used to the places we live and forget to appreciate what we have. Today, I just wanted to take a moment to recognize it.

Thank you, Nantucket. Thank you for every day, every opportunity, and for allowing me to be part of this place.
