Obituary: Mitchell Beede, 1959 - 2024

Mitchell Beede, also known as "Mitch," passed away at the age of 64 in his Nantucket, MA home on Tuesday, May 14. He was born on September 27, 1959 and grew up in Fair Haven, VT, where he attended Fair Haven Unified High School.
Mitch was known for his fast-paced lifestyle and over-the-top personality. He raced for several years at Devil’s Bowl, earning many trophies in his prized car "Can’t Drive 55.”
His passion for cars led him to work as a mechanic in Vermont for several years before moving to Nantucket, MA, where he started a successful business as a contractor.
Mitch was an active member of his community, always friendly and willing to help a person in need whether that be a meal to eat or a place to stay. Mitch was actively involved in Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous, often leading meetings and providing crucial support to those in need.
Mitch is predeceased by his sister, Donna Carter. He is survived by his parents, Joan and Donald Beede, his siblings Debbie Karmels, Perry Beede, and Tanya Hall. He is also survived by his five children, Amy Pritchard, Mitchell Beede, Casey Briggs, Elena Beede, and Eliana Beede and stepdaughter, Amy Douville, as well as his grandchildren, Ethan, Miles, Charleigh-Jo, Kodi-Sue, and Robbi-Lynn. Many nieces and nephews whom he loved survive him as well.
A memorial service will be held at St Paul’s Church On Fair St, Nantucket at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21st.
