Paige Albertson Receives New Rank At Mass Maritime

Nantucket High School Class of 2019 graduate Paige Albertson has been selected as Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Regimental Executive Officer for the 2022-2023 school year.

Albertson received her rank at a change of command ceremony on Wednesday, where she became second in charge of the entire regiment of cadets.

"It’s an honor and a privilege to have this opportunity," Albertson said. "I look forward to providing my subordinates with all the tools they need to keep the Academy running the way it should be."

Albertson is also a member of Mass Maritime’s women’s lacrosse team. She said she will graduate with a Third Assistant Engineer license and is hoping to get out work in the engine room on some sort of ship once she is out of school.

"Growing up on Nantucket, I’ve always been passionate about being on the water," Albertson said. "Being an engineer on a ship allows me to meet many different people and travel to many different places."
