Richard Moore Named DPW Deputy Director

Island resident Richard Moore has been named the DPW's new deputy director for operations. Moore has worked for the town since 2009, first at the wastewater treatment plant, and for the past six years at the DPW.

The promotion puts Moore in charge of a number of areas at the DPW, including roads, stormwater, roadside mowing, contracts, and other facets of the department, working under new DPW head Stephen Arceneaux.

After a difficult stretch over the past few years, the DPW is staffing back up and getting back on track under new leadership.

"I think morale is really high right now," Moore said. "I'm loving the feel of it."
