Coach Bill Belichick Buys Downtown Nantucket Property, Adding To His Island Portfolio

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick may be out of the NFL - for now - but he's still making moves.
Belichick, 72, who has owned a compound in 'Sconset on Nantucket's east end for decades, added to his island real estate portfolio this week, closing on a $4.8 million home on Fair Street.
The downtown property was acquired on Wednesday by a limited liability company registered to a William S. Belichick, of Hingham, where the legendary coach also owns a home.
The .07-acre Fair Street property, just steps away from Main Street in downtown Nantucket, was built in 1983 and last sold for $3.8 million in 2021. The four-bedroom, four-bath gambrel-style home was renovated in 2017.
Belichick has been coming to the island for decades and was spotted in recent years enjoying Nantucket Harbor aboard his boat "8 Rings" and taking in the Daffodil Festival in 'Sconset.
“The island is spectacular,” Belichick told N Magazine in 2017. “The people are great, fishing, bike paths, the lighthouses, the beach, the history — I mean it’s got it all.”
Belichick's historic 24-year run as Patriots head coach came to an end in January when he and team owner Bob Kraft "mutually agreed to part ways amicably." He was in the running for the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job, but the team ultimately selected Raheem Morris instead.
With no other NFL head coaching jobs materializing for the man many consider to be the greatest coach in league history, there was a tongue-in-cheek campaign to get Belichick to consider taking over as the Nantucket High School varsity football head coach.
