Boys Lacrosses Closes Out Season With Blowout Win Over St. John Paul II

The Whaler boys lacrosse team closed out their season with a 17-1 victory over the St. John Paul II Lions Wednesday afternoon. The win improved their record to 9-9 as they now look ahead to the postseason.
Sophomore midfielder Jack Halik led the team with five goals and sophomore attacker Cole Chambers was right behind him with four goals of his own.
Senior attacker Cosmo Tedeschi and senior midfielder Makai Bodden each had two goals. Senior attackers Camden Knapp and Shane Hanlon, junior midfielder Jeremy Caspe, and sophomore midfielder Colby O'Keefe each had one goal on a day where senior goalie George Boucher only had to make two saves.
In the latest MIAA Power Rankings released on Thursday, June 1, the Whalers were ranked eighth in the Div. 4 state tournament bracket. The official brackets will be released on Saturday, per the MIAA, so check back in with the Current for updates as they become available.
