The Nantucket Conservation Foundation's 24th Annual Race For Open Space 5K, 10K, and two-mile walk took place on Saturday morning off Milestone Road at the cranberry bogs.
Luke Mackay, 23, of Nantucket had the fastest 5K time amongst men (19:07) while Sarah Roberts, 22, of Nantucket had the fastest 5K time amongst women and placed eighth overall with a time of 21:19.
As for the 10K it was George Rand, 20, of Boston, who finished with the fastest time amongst all runners (37:55) while Lucy Gund, 25, of Chicago placed eighth overall and had the fastest time amongst women with a time of 42:26.

Proceeds from the race go to the foundation’s Land Fund, which helps to preserve and protect the island’s open spaces.
