Photo Gallery: Fall Sport Seasons Begin

The 2023 fall sports season officially arrived for every Nantucket High School team this week outside of Football, which started last week. The remaining seven teams began preparations for their respective seasons for the first time on Monday. Football had their first practice in shoulder pads on Tuesday.

Scrimmages will begin this week, and regular season play will begin in the first week of September for most teams. All teams are eligible to play their first games on September 3 while golf is technically eligible to begin August 25. A complete list of the teams and links to their schedules is below.

Golf was originally going to host the Duxbury Dragons in late August and be the first fall team to begin regular season play, but that match was cancelled. Their first match will be September 6 at home against Dennis-Yarmouth. You can access the full golf schedule by clicking here.

As for the other teams:

Football has a scrimmage against North Reading at home on Saturday, August 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Vito Capizzo Stadium. Their first regular season game will be at home against Carver on Saturday, September 9 at 5 p.m. You can access the full football schedule (and cheerleading) by clicking here.

Volleyball will begin their season on Sunday, September 3 when they host Frontier Regional High School in the NHS Gym at 11 a.m. You can access the full volleyball schedule by clicking here.

Girls Soccer will travel to Carver for a scrimmage on August 31 at 3:30 p.m. and kick off their season on Tuesday, September 5 when they host Barnstable at 4 p.m. You can access the full girls soccer schedule by clicking here.

Boys Soccer will travel to Whitman-Hanson for a scrimmage on Sunday, August 27 at 1 p.m. before kicking off their 2023 season on Tuesday, September 5 when they travel to Barnstable. You can access the full boys soccer schedule by clicking here.

Field Hockey will host Barnstable for a scrimmage on Thursday, August 24 at 10:30 p.m. and begin their regular season on Thursday, September 7 when they host Dennis-Yarmouth at 3:45 p.m. You can access the full field hockey schedule by clicking here.
