The Whaler girls soccer team beat the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins 9-1 on the road Wednesday afternoon to conclude a regular season where they finished 10-5-3.

Nantucket was led by senior captain Adney Brannigan, who scored six goals for the second time in three games – breaking the record for most points totaled by a girls soccer player at Nantucket High School. The original record was set by 2013 Whaler alum Alexa Crosby, who had 225 points (94 goals and 37 assists). Crosby went on to play soccer at the University of Vermont for four years.

Brannigan now has 84 goals and 61 assists despite missing most of her junior season with an ankle injury. She will be looking to add to that total in the state tournament.

The Whalers also got goal scoring from freshman Harper LeBrecht (two goals) and junior Myah Johnson.

The Div. 4 girls soccer state tournament bracket will be released on Friday, November 1st at 1 p.m.
