This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Wednesday and Thursday Nantucket District Court sessions as the December jury week wraps up.
Melvin A. Arita, 47, of Nantucket will have an October 2nd, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for 11 months on the condition he forfeit his license for 45 days, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees.
Thomas C. McDonagh, 32, of Nantucket will have a July 24th, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for one year on the condition he forfeit his license for 45 days, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle stemming from the same incident was dismissed, and he was found not responsible on charges of failing to stop/yield and a marked lanes violation.
Junior Discalis Perez, 34, of Nantucket was found not-guilty by a Nantucket jury on October 15th, 2024 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was also found not responsible for speeding and a marked lanes violation.
Ana Patricia Hernandez Pineda, 36, of Nantucket had the probation she was serving on April 1st, 2024 charges of assault & battery on a police officer and resisting arrest following a guilty verdict from a Nantucket jury in December of 2024 terminated after completing it without violation. The case is now closed.
Nicolas Alcequiez Sanchez, 41, of Nantucket will have a November 10th, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for one year on the condition he forfeit his license for 45 days, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle stemming from the same incident was dismissed and he was found not responsible on a failure to drive in the right lane charge.
