This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from Tuesday’s Nantucket District Court session.

Yuri Barbosa Da Silva
, 27, of New Hampshire was arraigned on November 12th, 2023 charges of possessing an electric stun gun and possessing ammunition without an FID card. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court March 16th for a pretrial hearing.

The charges against Da Silva stem from an incident over two years ago while Da Silva lived on the island. Public safety officials responded to his home for a medical call and upon arrival observed a stun gun and one bullet in the home.

Eugene J. Detmer
, 70, of Nantucket was arraigned on February 12th charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, failure to stop/yield, and failure to wear a seat belt. Detmer had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court March 31st for a pretrial hearing.

Edward Gillispie
, 62, of Nantucket was arraigned on January 8th charges of possessing a Class B drug to distribute and trafficking Cocaine in an amount greater than 36 grams but less than 100 grams. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court April 13th for a pretrial hearing. After being continued without a finding for three months, Ellen M. Hope, 60, of Nantucket had a September 3rd, 2024 charge of leaving the scene of property damage dismissed.

Alberth Steven Obando
, 36, of Nantucket was arraigned on a September 10th, 2025 charge of indecent assault & battery on a person over the age of 14. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court March 23rd for a pretrial hearing. We will add additional information about this case upon receiving the police report.
