This week's Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from Monday's Nantucket District Court session. It is led by an island resident who is alleged to have threatened to kill a man during a dispute at the Sparks Avenue Cumberland Farms.
Sean R. Mcgrady, 57, of Nantucket was arraigned on a Nov. 7th, 2024 charge of threatening to commit a crime. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court April 22nd for a pretrial hearing.
According to the police report, Mcgrady allegedly approached an individual (whose identity will remain anonymous in this story) at the Sparks Avenue Cumberland Farms and a dispute began. Mcgrady allegedly began to yell at the person, use vulgar language towards the individual, and called the person names. Mcgrady allegedly told the individual that he "was going to take care of (the person) and that he was going to kill (the person)."
Mcgrady was allegedly waiting for the individual outside of the store in the back, which prompted the person to leave through the front door. Mcgrady spoke with police and told them he never said he was going to kill them - denying the allegations made against him.
Shane P. Hanlon, 29, of Nantucket was arraigned on a Jan. 19th charge of violating an harassment prevention order and a Feb. 17th charge of violating an harassment prevention order. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court April 22nd for a pretrial hearing.
