This Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Tuesday Nantucket District Court session.
Edward Gillispie, the 62 year old island man who was arrested earlier this month in Hyannis and allegedly preparing to transport a kilogram of cocaine from Hyannis to Nantucket, is officially facing charges in Nantucket District Court after clerk magistrate Brian Kearney found probable cause for charges of possessing a class B drug to distribute and trafficking cocaine in an amount greater than 36 grams but less than 100 grams. The arraignment is scheduled for February 17th at 9 a.m.
Gillispie was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on January 9th on a charge of trafficking cocaine over 200 grams and is currently being held in the Barnstable House of Corrections. In a press release sent out by the Barnstable Police Department at the time of the arrest, they indicated that the Nantucket Police would be seeking additional charges in Nantucket District Court for the drug’s seized at Gillispie’s home on the island.
Christopher Scott Brownell, 38, of Nantucket, was arraigned on a December 4th, 2025 charge of violating an abuse prevention order. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court March 2nd for a pretrial hearing.
After being continued without a finding for 18 months, Cassandra Marie Bustos, 36, of Nantucket had an April 30th, 2024 charge of assault & battery with a dangerous weapon dismissed.
Oliberto Esteban Gregorio, 32, of Nantucket had a September 29th, 2025 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed due to lack of prosecution after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
