This Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Nantucket District Court session on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

Alesander De La Cruz Jorge, 20, of Nantucket and Steven Mejia Garcia, 23, of Nantucket will each have one Aug. 8, 2021 charge of assault and battery dismissed on the condition they pay $2,466 combined in restitution to the victim in the case.

Kareem Hesham Taha, 38, of Nantucket, had a May 10 charge of assault and battery on a family/household member dismissed due to lack of prosecution.

Christopher J. Tremblay, 51, of North Adams, will have two Aug. 25, 2022 charges of assault and battery on a person over 60 years old/disabled and a charge of malicious destruction of property under $1,200 continued without a finding for one year on the condition he stay away and have no contact with the victims and write an apology letter.

A six-month Duquette alternative was issued to go along with this agreement, meaning that if Tremblay violates his probation, he will automatically be sentenced to six months in prison. Two charges of breaking and entering a building for a misdemeanor stemming from the same incident were dismissed.

According to the police report, Tremblay began yelling and screaming at the victims because they were blocking traffic in the third row of the downtown Stop & Shop row. Tremblay then got out of his car, opened the passenger’s side door and began yelling at the victim before putting both hands on him as he attempted to pull him out of his car.

The report goes onto say that Tremblay then went over to the driver’s side of the vehicle, entered the car through the window, and yanked the windshield wiper toggle off of the steering column. Tremblay’s hand then struck Weissman’s neck as he was removing the toggle from the vehicle.
