This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday and Tuesday Nantucket District Court sessions. This week is jury week, which means there will be court sessions through Friday.

After being continued without a finding for one year, Luka Beladidze, 26, of Nantucket had a December 31st, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol dismissed.

, 62, of Nantucket was found guilty following a jury trial Tuesday afternoon on an April 11, 2025 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was ordered to complete one year of probation, forfeit his license for 45 days, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees. A charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license stemming from the same incident was dismissed.

Walter E. Lopez-Castro
, 47, of Nantucket was arraigned on May 28th charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and possessing an open container of alcohol while in a motor vehicle. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 7th for a pretrial hearing.

, 37, of Nantucket was arraigned on May 31st charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. She had not-guilty pleas entered on her behalf and was ordered to return to court June 15th for a pretrial hearing.

Francis J. Muise
, 60, of Nantucket was found not-guilty by an island jury during a trial Monday afternoon on a March 20th, 2025 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Mariela Doris Quijada-Brownell
, 20, of Nantucket had an August 7th, 2025 charge of assault & battery dismissed due to lack of prosecution after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.

After being continued without a finding for one year, Leydy Laura Pena De Reyes, 32, of Nantucket had a December 10th, 2024 charge of possessing a Class B drug dismissed.

After being continued without a finding for one year, Andrew P. Schmidt, 21, of Nantucket had April 21st, 2024 charges of assault & battery (two counts) and assault & battery with a dangerous weapon dismissed.

Jayci R. Seliger
, 25, of Nantucket had June 30th, 2025 charges of malicious destruction of property under $1,200, motor vehicle not meeting RMV safety standards, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a license plate violation dismissed due to lack of prosecution at the request of the Cape & Island’s District Attorney’s Office.
