This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday and Tuesday Nantucket District Court sessions. This week is the court’s June jury week, so there will be cases throughout the week.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Samuel Erasto Alvarado Aguilar, 52, of Nantucket, after he failed to appear in court for an arraignment session on May 30th charges of possessing cocaine to distribute and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Aguilar is already facing charges from a Sept. 23rd, 2024 incident where he was charged with assault & battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, possessing a class B drug, and possessing a class C drug.
Tadas Ballukonis, 35, of Nantucket was arraigned on a May 28th charge of assault & battery on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 14th for a pretrial hearing.
Luke Beladidze, 25, of Nantucket will have a Dec. 31st, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for one year on the condition he complete his one year of probation without a violation, forfeit his license for 45 days, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees
Charges of failure to stop for police, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and speeding were dismissed.
After being continued without a finding for one year, Daniel J. Benitez Bonilla, 24, of Nantucket had an Oct. 4th, 2023 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol dismissed.
Joao Vithor De Souza Pires, 22, of Nantucket had a Nov. 3rd, 2024 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member and three Dec. 14th, 2024 charges of violating an abuse prevention order dismissed after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
Jeffrey A. Frable, 67, of Nantucket had a Nov. 21st, 2024 charge of violating an abuse prevention ordered dismissed after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
After being continued without a finding for one year, Douglas Hamilton Gutteridge Jr., 53, of Nantucket had a March 18th, 2023 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol dismissed.
Dominic N. Hall, 42, of Nantucket will have a Jan. 27th, 2025 charge of assault continued without a finding for nine months on the condition he complete his probation without a violation.
Eric Keyes, 41, of Nantucket was arraigned on June 1st charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop for police, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to court July 14th for a pretrial hearing.
After being continued without a finding for 18 months, Melvin Alexander Mata-Portillo, 48, of Nantucket had a May 30th, 2022 charge of assault & battery dismissed.
Ethan C. Potter, 31, of Nantucket pleaded guilty to a March 26th, 2024 charge of possessing a firearm without an FID card (subsequent offense). He was given 18 months in the Barnstable House of Corrections, however that balance will be suspended for two years on the condition he complete his probation without any violations. All fees and fines were waived.
Charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and possessing ammunition without an FID card stemming from the same incident were dismissed.
Leydy Laura Pena de Reyes, 31, of Nantucket will have a Dec. 10th, 2024 charge of possessing to distribute a class B drug continued without a finding for one year on the condition she complete her probation without a violation. Reyes was one of two island residents arrested following a drug bust in December of last year.
Tyler Rioux, 34, of Nantucket was arraigned on April 4th charges of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, and trespassing. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 15 for a pretrial hearing.
Andrew P. Schmidt, 21, of Michigan will have two April 21st, 2024 charges of assault & battery continued without a finding for one year on the condition he complete the one year of probation without a violation. He was also ordered to complete a substance abuse evaluation and complete an anger management course.
A charge of assault & battery with a dangerous weapon stemming from the same incident was dismissed. A charge of possessing liquor under the age of 21 from a May 19th incident was dismissed.
