This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from Monday’s Nantucket District Court session.

Alexandra W. Bankart, 34, of Nantucket will have a March 22nd charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for one year on the condition she forfeit her license for 45 days, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees.

Charges of leaving the scene of property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle were dismissed.

William Andrew Carlander, 24, of Nantucket was arraigned on May 18thcharges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 14th for a pretrial hearing.

Jose Moises Juarez Chavez, 27, of Nantucket was arraigned on April 12thcharges of assault & battery on a family/household member and malicious destruction of property under $1,200. He had a not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court June 30th for a pretrial hearing.

Airam Zoe Gonsales, 25, of Nantucket was arraigned on an April 12th charge of larceny over $1,200. She had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 22nd for a pretrial hearing.

Omar J. Fraser, 47, of Nantucket, was arraigned last week on a May 10thcharge of assault & battery on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and had his bail on the new charge set at $1,000 cash, $10,000 surety. He was found to have violated his probation he was serving on a previous assault & battery on a family/household member charge and was ordered to be transported to the Barnstable House of Corrections. He was ordered to be brought back to court on June 10th for a pretrial hearing.

Suresh Ghising, 38, of Nantucket was arraigned on May 4th charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a license plate violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Ghising had not-guilty pleas entered and was ordered to return to court July 22nd for a pretrial hearing.

Richard A. Lawrence, 56, of Nantucket had a Jan. 1st charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed due to lack of prosecution after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.

Evan Carson Lopez, 33, of Nantucket had a Nov. 3rd, 2024 charge of assault & battery dismissed due to lack of prosecution after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.

Michelle Christine Maffeo, 36, of Nantucket was arraigned on April 27thcharges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a motor vehicle equipment violation. She had not-guilty pleas entered on her behalf and was ordered to return to court Aug. 18th for a pretrial hearing.

After being continued without a finding for one year, John J. Mullen, 52, of Brookline, New Hampshire had an Oct. 9th, 2023 charge of malicious destruction of property under $1,200 dismissed.

Etienne Gregoire Freire Pavie, 43, was arraigned Monday in Nantucket District Court on three May 17th charges of lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and had his bail set at $500 cash, $5,000 surety on the condition he remain alcohol free with screens. He was ordered to return to court July 8th for a pretrial hearing.

Pavie was initially held over the weekend on $2,000 cash bail. He was picked up by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the courthouse Monday afternoon immediately after his arraignment and is a Brazilian national. Pavie allegedly followed a woman downtown and proceeded to take his shirt off, "hump" a white fence, and masturbate in front of her before two bystanders helped her escape from the scene. Mackenzie Spearing, 24, of Nantucket was arraigned on May 18th charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. She had not-guilty pleas entered on her behalf and was ordered to return to court July 22nd for a pretrial hearing.

Cesar Madrid Vargas, 31, of Nantucket was arraigned on a May 18th charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court July 22ndfor a pretrial hearing.
