This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday Nantucket District Court session.
Christopher Brownell, 38, of Nantucket was arraigned on Monday on November 7th charges of assault and battery on a family/household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, resisting arrest, and threatening to commit a crime.
Brownell had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf, but had his bail revoked on an existing case in Barnstable District Court, where he faces a charge of threatening to commit a crime. The bail revocation was requested by the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office and granted by Judge James Sullivan. You can read the full story on this incident here.
Mariela D. Quijada-Brownell, 20, of Nantucket was arraigned on an August 7th charge of assault & battery. She had a not-guilty plea entered on her behalf and was ordered to return to court November 17th for a pretrial hearing.
Aleksandar Sarcevic, 37, of Nantucket was arraigned on an October 4th, 2024 charge of larceny by check over $1,200. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court February 2nd, 2026 for a pretrial hearing. The check in question was allegedly for approximately $3,100.
