This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Tuesday Nantucket District Court session.
Lee M. Kennedy, the 62 year old man who was charged following an alleged assault against a 69 year old female ICE protester last month, had his arraignment rescheduled to October 9th. It was revealed during Tuesday’s court session that Kennedy had been seeking to have the charges dismissed prior to arraignment and sought approval for a diversion program, but that request was denied by the District Attorney’s Office.
Caverly Brooks Monahan, 25, of Nantucket had May 24th charges of, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage dismissed at the request of the District Attorney’s Office.
Katie Velt, 36, of Nantucket had an August 18th charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed due to lack of prosecution after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
