Despite less-than-ideal wind conditions on Sunday, the 54th annual Opera House Cup, the annual classic yacht regatta of Nantucket Race Week, was claimed by Sea Horse and skipper Ronald Zarrella for the third straight year. The race was postponed for a few hours due to the lack of wind, which also hampered the annual Rainbow Fleet trek around Brant Point.

Ultimately, several sailors in the Rainbow Fleet paddled and were towed around the lighthouse to renew the annual tradition. Nantucket Race Week is the largest annual fundraiser for Nantucket Community Sailing, generating approximately 25 percent of NCS’s annual operating budget. All proceeds directly support youth sailing programs, scholarships, and community outreach initiatives on the island.
