Another Big Winner At Old South Diner

The lucky streak for the Old South Diner on Nantucket rolls on.
The Massachusetts State Lottery announced another big winner at the island establishment on Friday. Nantucket resident Dipak Thapa claimed a $500,000 prize on the lottery's "$500,000 Frenzy" scratch ticket game.
Thapa chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $355,000 before taxes, according to the lottery, and said he plans on saving and investing his winnings.
It marked the latest in a string of big winners at the Old South Diner since 2024, including:
3/11/2024: Jose Fontanez, a Boston resident, won a $1 million prize on a $10 scratch ticket.
6/10/24: A $2 million prize was won by Garen Downie, of Hyannis, on a “Lifetime Millions” $50 scratch ticket.
8/20/24: A $1 million prize was won by island chef Sean Durnin on a “$10,000,000 Bonanza” $20 scratch ticket.
3/5/26: Yancy Contreras Menjivar, who owns a house cleaning business on Nantucket, hit the jackpot with a $2 million scratch ticket winner.
3/26/26: Mary Haley, of Nantucket won $2 million on a Powerball ticket sold at the diner.
