Civic League To Honor The Nantucket Clean Team

The Nantucket Clean Team and its founder Bill Connell will be honored by the Nantucket Civic League next week with the organization's annual "Civic Salute" award.

The Nantucket Clean Team and its members volunteer every weekend during the summer and shoulder seasons to clean up litter and debris around different areas of the island.

“We honor you as the developer and longtime Clean Team leader, and your dedicated group of volunteers, for your effort in keeping the island litter-free," the award reads, in part.

The award will be presented during the Nantucket Civic League's annual meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Sconset Casino, located at 10 New Street. This meeting is open to the public, and the featured speaker will be Nantucket Town Manager Libby Gibson.
