Nantucket Cottage Hospital Named Finalist in National "Most Beautiful Hospitals" Contest
Nantucket Current •
Nantucket Cottage Hospital has been named one of 57 finalists in Soliant Health’s 2026 Most Beautiful Hospitals contest, putting NCH in the running to be recognized among the 20 most beautiful hospitals in the country.
Public voting is now open through October 16. The hospital receiving the most votes nationwide will also receive a $5,000 donation to its foundation from Soliant.
Nantucket Cottage Hospital was nominated for its "welcoming island setting, thoughtful design, and the warmth and compassion of its staff," according to Soliant. "Seasonal touches, from hydrangeas and a whale-tail statue in the courtyard to warm interior lighting and peaceful views in winter, reflect the hospital’s connection to Nantucket. Its friendly, attentive staff and strong community atmosphere further help create an environment where patients and families can feel comfortable and supported."
The contest drew 2.3 million votes in 2025. Voting in the 2026 contest runs from September 14 through October 16, and supporters can vote for their favorite hospital throughout the voting period. The 20 hospitals receiving the most votes will be announced on Friday, October 23.
“When people vote for their hospital, they are often voting for much more than a building,” said Graig Paglieri, CEO of Soliant Health. “They are recognizing the nurses, clinicians, support staff, volunteers, and entire teams who made them feel cared for when they needed it most. We love seeing communities come together to celebrate the hospitals that mean something to them, and we are excited to see that support in action again this year."
