Nantucket Garden Club Announces Grant And Scholarship Recipients

For over 60 years the Nantucket Garden Club has raised funds to provide grants to foster local interest in gardening, horticulture and landscape design and to improve the quality of the environment through land conservation and ecological initiatives.
The Club this week announced its 2022 community grant recipients:
- Housing Nantucket-Daffodil bulbs at 38 properties
- Maria Mitchell Association-Continuation of fifth grade tree project
- Nantucket Historical Association-Refresh kitchen garden beds at Oldest House and install 5 benches
- Sherburne Commons-Refresh raised beds, supplement soil in residents’ gardens, and install front entrance plantings
- Small Friends Daycare-Install outdoor sink for outdoor garden classroom
- Sustainable Nantucket (Farm-to-School Program) -Irrigation system and equipment for youth garden
The Nantucket Garden Club funds its community grants and college scholarships through its annual House and Garden Tour event. The club's grants and scholarships for Nantucket High School graduates are intended for those whose projects and studies align with the club's mission.
