Nantucket Nutrition Opens On Hanabea Lane

Nantucket Nutrition opened its doors on Hanabea Lane off Old South Road last month and has since been cranking out smoothies, energizing cold teas and protein coffee.
The new business is operated by island resident Laura Smith, who moved to Nantucket from Maine four years ago. Smith said she had been looking for an opportunity to help people meet their health and nutrition goals in a fun and enjoyable way.
“This is what I’ve been wanting to do for six-and-a-half years,” she said.
The teas, smoothies and other products offered at Nantucket Nutrition are all made with Herbalife Nutrition supplements and products. Smith is affiliated with the global dietary supplement company that she credits with helping her get healthier following the birth of her third son.
“I was a mom, tired, a little overweight after my third son, and I wanted to lose weight,” she said. “I was introduced to these products and went on to lose 30 pounds and felt amazing.”
Nantucket Nutrition’s shakes have 24 grams of protein and are “full meal replacements” Smith said. Its energizing teas have no sugar and just 15 calories, come in dozens of flavors, and can be “boosted” or “lit” to add additional caffeine.
“How I explain it is, it’s like a healthy Red Bull or Monster,” Smith said. “Rather than something that’s full of sugar where you feel jacked up or weird, this is a healthy alternative to that.”
The small store in the Hanabea Lane development has a mini-bar area inside, as well as a private area where Smith hopes to work one-on-one with customers who want additional assistance and where they can can be weighed and measured.
The space was built by Jesse Smith, Laura's husband, who is the facilities director for the Sankaty Head Golf Club and a licensed contractor.
Nantucket Nutrition, which is located across the street from the Thai House in the Hanabea Lane development, is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
