Robert Petroff Leaves Our Island Home, Peter Holden Returns

When it comes to the Our Island Home these past couple of years, a changing of the guard as it pertains to leadership at the island's nursing home has become common place since 2020. That cycle continued this week when the Current learned that Robert Petroff, who was hired to become the Our Island Home’s new interim director in December of 2021, left the nursing home after less than three months in the position.
The initial hope was that Petroff would transition into the role, be a fit, and eventually be hired on a permanent basis, a source told the Current. But with that plan no longer in the picture, it will be Peter Holden, who served as an interim director for the Our Island Home in 2020, who will once again lead the nursing home as its director. Holden has been hired on an interim basis until a permanent hire has been made.
In a letter sent out to Our Island Home residents and families, OIH assistant administrator Michelle Munroe said that Petroff was “reassigned” by Eisenstein and Flaherty, a senior living consultant company that the nursing home has contracted with since 2020 to fill the OIH Director position on an interim basis until a permanent director has been secured.
