The Green Room, A New Bar And Lounge, To Be Opened By Greydon House Owners On North Water Street

The owners of the Greydon House hotel on Broad Street are planning to open a new bar and lounge called The Green Room at 4 North Water Street, a property directly adjacent to the hotel. The Select Board approved alcohol and entertainment licenses for the property on Monday.
“The plans look beautiful. I think it makes a lot of sense for this building,” Select Board vice chair Brooke Mohr said. “To me, objectively, it looks like a really good use of this space.”
The bar and lounge will have 74 seats, and will be open to the public year-round, not just the hotel’s guests. A soft opening is expected in July. Via Mare, the existing restaurant at The Greydon House, operates under a separate liquor license.
The owners of the Greydon House, Alexander Leventhal, Jeremy Leventhal, and Elliot Gould, purchased the adjacent property at 4 North Water Street for $5.6 million in 2023, and the lot has been under construction over the past year to add a patio area and the new Green Room bar and lounge. The Leventhals and Gould are the managing partners of Faros Properties, a real estate investment firm with offices in Boston, New York, and Pittsburgh. On Nantucket, they also own the Anchor Inn and the Martin House Inn, both located on Centre Street, as well as several downtown guest houses. The Leventhals and Gould disclosed in the application submitted to the Select Board that they also hold an interest in the alcohol license for the Straight Wharf restaurant Cru. Off-island, they also own an interest in the alcohol license of the restaurant Serafina on Newbury Street in Boston,
Opened in 2016, Greydon House consists of 20 hotel rooms. The move to open the Green Room comes as another downtown hotel, the Beachside, plans to open its nearby guests-only restaurant to the public.
The Select Board approved the licenses as alterations to the existing licenses held by the Greydon House, adding 400 square feet of outdoor area between 17 Broad Street and 4 North Water Street, as well as the three-story building at 4 North Water Street, which includes four hotel rooms. The entertainment license only covers the use of recorded music indoors.
Like the Greydon House property on Broad Street, the 4 North Water Street property was previously owned by the late Dr. Wylie Collins and his family.
