In a ceremony held Tuesday afternoon, Nantucket Police Sergeant Daniel Mack was promoted to detective lieutenant and received his new badge from his father, Richard Mack, as you can see in some of the photos above.

Detectives Jackie Hollis and Robert Hollis were both promoted to the rank of sergeant and celebrated the occasion, which is an extreme rarity for any police department, with their family.

The Public Safety Building's meeting room was packed with family, friends, public safety personnel, and other department heads and community members.

The Nantucket Current was there to capture some images of the ceremony, the officers, and their families.
